The Auckland Writers Festival Waituhi o Tāmaki is Aotearoa New Zealand’s premier festival of books and ideas and one of the best attended in the world, comprising an annual six day, 200+ event programme each May in Auckland which attracts attendance of more than 80,000.  40+ international and 160+ writers appear are showcased each year in an event which ranges widely across genres and formats A not-for-profit charitable trust, the Festival raises two thirds of its revenue annually through grants, sponsorship, patronage and partnership, and delivers a mix of free and accessibly-priced programming, all delivered by a small full time staff of six.
