Based in Berkeley, California, the annual Bay Area Book Festival brings 200-300 notable authors each year to a two-day festival with approximately 100 programs (interviews, panels, performances) for adults. One of the most international literary festivals in the U.S., we typically include 25-35 authors from other countries. While most author programs are indoors, we also have a large Outdoor Fair with three stages and 200 literary-themed exhibitors. The Outdoor Fair also hosts our children's program, with author-led storytelling, author interviews (often done by youth), and interactive activities. Around 25,000 people attend each year. For 2020, the Festival has gone virtual with Bay Area Book Festival #UNBOUND, with 3-4 programs online each week.
