AKE Arts & Book Festival

Now in its 7th year, Ake Arts and Book Festival has brought over 400 artists, writers, poets, musicians, dancers and thinkers together in Abeokuta and now in Lagos State, Nigeria. The primary goals of the festival are to promote, develop and celebrate creativity on the African continent through a series of events, featuring writers, artists, poets, dancers, performers, critics and thinkers. These events include panel discussions, workshops, book-chats, plays, poetry events, concerts and performances. The festival also boasts a fantastic bookstore which stocks books primarily authored by Africans, and books about Africa. Described as the largest convergence of African creatives in the world, Ake Festival is organised by the Book Buzz Foundation.
