Hay Festival Medellin held its eighth edition in 2020, with a staff of authors, thinkers and experts who shared with a dedicated public its priceless knowledge and experiences. Hay Festival is an international celebration of arts and sciences that has been held for the past 32 years in Hay-on-Wye, a small town in Wales that is famous for its bookshops. The Festival lasts 11 days, hosts more than 700 events, debates, interviews and concerts. Its audience comes from the UK, Europe and the Americas.

The 28 women, one from each European country, taking part in Hay Festival Europa28 in Rijeka 2020, represent a multi-disciplinary snapshot of the best minds of our time, including writer Kapka Kassabova, entrepreneur Hilary Cottam, activist Janne Teller, and anthropologist Gloria Wekker. Their short stories and essays will be shared through a new anthology, Europa28: Visions for the Future.
